Mom was a wonderful cook and she always showed her love for our family through her cooking. IÕve tried to capture the best of MomÕs old and new recipes in this cookbook.
The core of the cookbook is made up of recipes IÕve collected from Mom over the years, many of them dating to my childhood. I kept the cookbook a secret from Mom at first, only asking my siblings, nieces and nephews for suggestions of recipes to include in the cookbook. After IÕd typed the first draft, I showed it to Mom and Dad and gave them an opportunity to include current favorite recipes. I then sent out the list of recipes to the whole family to make sure that we hadnÕt left out any important ones. It was a group effort.
The idea to create a cookbook began in 1999 as a celebration of MomÕs and DadÕs 55th wedding anniversary, and it has taken many years to complete the project. I hope that you will find many real treasures in ÒNatalieÕs Kitchen.Ó
