Nestorian Missionary Enterprise: The Story of a Church on Fire provides a handy yet detailed account of the remarkable missionary effort of the Assyrian Church of the East in bringing the Gospel to the peoples of Asia. This missionary effort was particularly interesting because it was accomplished without the force of arms or backing of any political power and because it sought to accommodate the message of Christ to the various cultures of Asia. Although the book was published in 1928, it remains an excellent survey of the spread of Christianity in Persia, Arabia, Central Asia, India, China and Japan.
