Recently Updated Version! The North Star Girls Group Curriculum is designed to help girls gain a sense of competency and empowerment through education, support & connecting with others. The group curriculum is designed to help promote feelings of self-esteem and self-confidence, and also provides education about healthy ways to cope with the stresses and pressures of adolescence. The first North Star Groups were piloted at a middle school in Bellevue, Washington in 1997. Since this time, North Star Girls Groups continue at elementary, middle and high schools, community mental health agencies, community centers, and summer camps.
