This is a fantasy army level wargame using AREA MOVEMENT and abstract maneuvering retaining all the tactical choices required by the genre. It's designed for fast, relaxed play among friends, not competitions. Bookkeeping is minimal. A typical large game requires two hours, including setup. Combat is dramatic. Something happens every turn. Troops die quickly. You can use any figures in any scale. Use any models you already own. Use any basing system, as long as you can count the units. Table size is flexible, you can play on a small kitchen table or on a huge wargaming table.
You can play ancient/medieval battles by removing the fantasy elements, but the rules have no pretension of historical accuracy. There is no SOLO system: you may play solo by controlling both sides. IMPORTANT: There are NO ARMY lists in the book, but there's a spreadsheet with 600 ready-made profiles on the Facebook Song of Blades group. You can use it to create your own troops.
