I, for one, have always locked up my house when I am out of HarryÕs Butte overnight. I do not do this to deter theft. ItÕs easy enough to break a window to gain access to most houses. I lock my doors to discourage the high schoolers from choosing my place in which to throw a party. I am not suggesting that the local kids are lurking around waiting for the opportunity to hold a bacchanal, but it has happened before.
The poet Ezra Pound is reported to have commented on the writings of James Joyce by saying, ÒIÕm not supposed to know much about prose, but I think your novel is damn fine stuff.Ó One can only imagine what Pound would say about Paul BartholÕs HarryÕs Butte Series.
