Since the birth of the hobby, pulp stories have been an inspiration for both the game as a whole, but especially the creatures that populate its world. Thanks to illustrators like Virgil Finlay, Frank R. Paul, Margaret Brundage, those creatures took shape not only in the mind, but on the page as well. Undertaken as a quarantine project in 2020 and inspired by the images created by a host of legends from pulp illustration, this book attempts to capture the spirit of the early days of the hobby. The resultÑover 200 new monsters statted up for classic editions of the worldÕs original role-playing game and comparable retro-clones.
