This is the true account of Fr. Tadashi Hasegawa, who was 14 yrs. old on August 6, 1945, the day the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan. Only 2 km. from the epicenter of the blast, Tadashi was terribly burned. For the next 4 months he and his family struggled to survive. His story is a remarkable tribute to love, sacrifice, and courage in the face of immeasurable horror, pain, and despair.
A chance encounter with Fr. Pedro Arrupe (later to become Father General of the world-wide Jesuit order) resulted in a chain of events that led to Tadashi's miraculous healing, and would set him a path towards priesthood and his lifelong mission speaking out against nuclear war and for world peace.
