The story of John Mylrea born 1823 on the Isle of Man, who arrived in Australia only 50 years after it was first settled by Europeans. He was a shepherd but, in the right place at the right time, he became very wealthy as a result of the Victorian gold rushes of the 1850s. He then journeyed to Queensland, Australia's northern frontier, to turn his hand to sheep raising, a venture that did not have a happy ending
