The Celts spread throughout Europe as far as France and Spain, before crossing the sea to Ireland and Britain. The Roman expansion north was resisted by Celtic tribes and clans in the High Lands of Scotland joining together. Their relatives,caused the Romans to eventually go back to Europe. Without the Romans in England, other migrants came as Saxons from Saxony. Angles and Jutes from Denmark, and eventually Vikings from Norway and Sweden.
