This is the life story of Karl Fredrick Schluter born March 29, 1824 who came to America in 1854. His wife would come the following year raising their family in Dongola, IL. Many hand written family stories and photos have been passed down from earlier descendants. With an old map the Schluter home was located as well as the Lutheran Church where family members attended, were Baptized, and were married. Photos of the area are included. Family descendants are given. Yearly family reunions are recorded in the Schluter Gazette on file at the Dongola Library.
