This is a Story Book of the wonderful memories of a sister and her younger brother who were uniquely privileged to live through this period of East African history. From 1934 to 1956 their parents were posted to various remote ports on the lakes and rivers of Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika (modern day Tanzania), including Lake Victoria and the River Nile. Their father was a marine engineer with the East African Railway and Harbours (EAR&H) and many of the stories and photographs in this book are taken from the times spent in these remote and isolated outposts far from the norms of western civilization.
