It has been my pleasure to teach middle schoolers for over thirty years. Most of those years have been at Georgetown Middle School. When the idea for an in-school ÔclubÕ for students was suggested, I was unsure of what I would be in for, or how successful this endeavor might prove to be. I was about to find out when I chose to sponsor Pens on Fire!, a club comprised of middle schoolers who loved to write.
Since the publication of that book last year, a new group of students have comprised this writing class. As a result of the success of the first book, the talents of these new writers, and a lot of hard work from everyone involved, I am proud to introduce this second book: Pens Ablaze!
And so, read and enjoy Pens Ablaze!. Most likely someday you will see some of these young writers quite successful in the diversity of life endeavors they choose to pursue. They are creative authors, and it has been a joy to work with them. May they inspire you as they have inspired their teacher.
