This project serves as an outlet for telling the story of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Upsilon Sigma Omega Chapter in Bennettsville, South Carolina. The purpose of this work is to document the chapterÕs contributions to the community and to show how the organization has helped to fulfill the sororityÕs mission: rendering service to all mankind. This literary work highlights the importance of service, sisterhood, and defined purpose. By examining the chapterÕs documented sixteen year history and overall community impact, it becomes clear that Upsilon Sigma Omega has been an agent of change in the Marlboro County community.
