Perpectives on Pooh is a compact survey of the most viable literary theories, all of which are individually applied to A.A. MilneÕs Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner. The author aims to illustrate how literary texts can be appreciated by combining and confronting a theoretical approach with close reading. It is also intended to refute the idea that since the publication of Frederick C. CrewsÕs parodic The Pooh Perplex in 1963, topped off by his Postmodern Pooh in 2001, little or nothing of serious critical value can be said about MilneÕs juvenile fiction.
