[PHASE 2] evocative relief is a UC Berkeley Master of Architecture thesis promoting a new long term approach to disaster aid and community resilience. The architecture uses potency of atmosphere to evoke emotional healing and to foster social support during Phase 2, the recovery period after flooding disasters. Sited in Guerneville, CA, the architecture uses the fluctuations of the environment to beneficially elicit emotional relief, as opposed to the traditional approach of isolating ourselves from the forces of nature and from one another.
