Part of a substantial Requiem setting inspired by the death of Alexander Litvinenko ('Requiem for the Time of the End'), this movement combines the standard text of the Pie Jesu with the Orthodox Prayer of the Heart - "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner" - and is dedicated to the memory of conductor and scholar David Trendell. It was first performed by the Choir of King's College, London under Gareth Wilson in 2015 and has been recorded by Delphian Records for release in 2016.
