Metaphorically, we are all on a pilgrimage Ð on the journey of life, to discover the truth of our own authenticity. It often takes on the form of traveling to sacred places that call to us and are in our inner and outer landscapes. In this series of fifty full color collages, PilgrimsÕ Journey, Donnalynn Chase has incorporated sacred images of various ancient religions and cultures, many which donÕt exist anymore.
To complete her art-making journey of assembling these fifty collages in fifty days, Donnalynn has shared her research on each collage element in this book. This collected information expands and enriches the meaning of each art piece.
The PilgrimsÕ Journey was created by donnalynn consciously trusting intention and synchronicity to make meaningful compositions. The vintage images of each collage were not arbitrarily selected and used to create something pretty. The seemingly random pieces collide and integrate to reveal how personal and universal spiritual traditions can and do merge.
