The methods of continuous topological evolution can be used to encode non-equilibrium electromagnetic systems, such as a plasma, and to decide if certain processes applied to such systems are thermodynamnically irreversible or not. The methods, based on topologies whose ingredients are exterior differential forms, are applicable to sets of distinguishable particles.
