This workbook is a part of a much larger sequence of basic skills books that I am developing in English language arts and in mathematics. The core objective of each book is to practice a fundamental set of English language or mathematics skills.
The core objective of this workbook is to practice writing and spelling words with a short ÒaÓ (as in ÒappleÓ). I organized the book around word families, sets of rhyming words (such as, Òman,Ó Òcan,Ó ÒranÓ).
Subsequent books in this Spelling series will focus on the other short vowels, on long vowels, on letter combinations, and on key sight vocabulary.
