Future Ready builds on the momentum of President Barack H. ObamaÕs ConnectED Initiative with the launch of the Future Ready pledge. This launch began with a large group of superintendents in the United States signing a pledge to lead this endeavor. The pledge recognizes the importance of building human capacity within schools and districts for effectively using increased connectivity and new devices for transforming teaching and learning (Office of Education Technology, 2015). We chose Future Ready as opposed to future education leaders to stress the importance of leveraging technology to transform learning--thus, Future Ready education leaders. We want, need and demand our education leaders be ready for the future.
