In the library of Salisbury Cathedral is a fascinating manuscript, No.148. First written around 1450, it was added to until the Reformation. During the Reformation, parts such as the lists of relics were redacted, and anything hinting at political incorrectness crossed out. Oaths of loyalty were subsequently inserted.
The lists of benefactors and those for whom prayers should be offered, including Queen Mary the first and Philip are fascinating, as are the lists of relics held by the Cathedral.
It is a document full of history, which is a delight to study.
