Punctuate is the story of my life. ItÕs ridiculous, upsetting, invasive, and melodramatic. IÕm not sure if itÕs prose or a poem. Art is hard like that. ItÕs often impossible to separate reality from the world between the pages, and everything bleeds together into a really weird cohesion. Art is so hard like that. My best friendÕs apartment had a rodent infestation a few months ago, and she told me a story about waking up in the morning and coming face to face with a mouse just sitting on the kitchen floor, staring at her. She thinks it was in shock or something, maybe even injured. Sometimes I wish I would have written about that instead. Sometimes I really do think it matters what I wrote this book about.
