This chapbook molds together familial, cultural and linguistic binaries in order to create a poetic visual of the bilingual experience. The work invites the reader to focus on claiming space in the intersection of language, family ties, personal history, speech, and the stigma of spanglish. Throughout the work, the use of language is playful, but the content is serious. Altogether, the goal of this work is to be rooted. To be rooted in family, to be rooted in language.
