Guilford was formed in 1771, from part of Orange and Rowan County. It extended from Virginia line to the south end of Randolph today. Therefore, old records for Randolph county land should be in either Guilford or Rowan/Orange Co. Unfortunately, Orange county deed records were destroyed (most of them) from 1752-1780. The Orange county line of 1752 is about 9-miles west of todayÕs Guilford/Alamance or Randolph/Chatham. Any further west, you have to go to Rowan County.
Randolph has just one box of miscellaneous records, and 3-boxes of Ejectments. The ejectment records will be transcribed in standalone volumes. At this point in time, only the first (and oldest) box of ejectments is scheduled. This collection is priceless for land researchers. Why? Because the plats show a lot of information that may never be fully understood without the picture Ð especially rivers and streams.

https://bookswholesale.myshopify.com/products/randolph-county-nc-miscellaneous-land-records-1782-1929
