The first step to take in this program is to address one's spiritual awareness and the potential for believing in the spiritual aspects of life. Addiction is a disease, but there is nothing that says that a spiritual approach can't cure that disease or keep it in remission. This book is a departure from the 12 Step Program that most recovery systems use.
