Struggling with the condition of outsider-ship, I often find myself caught between shifting notions of identity, trying to locate and build a sense of self in relation to family, community, and heritage. By sifting through personal memories, reflecting on impressions from a recent trip to the home of my ancestors, and by negotiating familial histories and myths, my work serves as an exploration of identity-a pilgrimage.
