"Reeling Backward" represents a two-year project by film critic Christopher Lloyd, who watched hundreds of movies from the 1930s to 1990 to enrich his own cinematic education. These essays explore some 128 films with wit, insight and not a little humor as he knocks some hallowed films off their pedestals, and discovers largely ignored movies better deserving of the term classic.
