Why is it so common to hear the phrase "I'm not a math person"? Why is there such a culture of anxiety surrounding math? Why is math such a frustrating topic for so many students? The must answer lie in the way math is taught in schools. The pedagogy and curriculum that has been traditionally used to teach mathematics is outdated and needs to be not only revised, but reimagined. Reimagining Mathematics Education presents prevalent issues and tensions in math education and proposes a new pedagogy that hopefully will change the way students feel about math.
