This book is about the realities and dilemmas which confronted Cambodian people, especially those who escaped to refugee camps at the Thai-Cambodian border after 1979. It includes photographs taken in three of those camps, Site 2, Site 8 and Kao-I-Dang. It includes maps of Cambodian history and a brief history of Cambodia and the border camps which were established after 1979. And it includes testimony by Cambodian people about their experiences during the years of Khmer Rouge control.
