When Nelda and I decided to capture our early memories in print, in 2009, we planned to have two books printed, one for each of us. Its scope expanded a little when our four children (NeldaÕs two daughters and my two sons) said they wanted copies. Gradually, we cautiously sent a few copies of We Remember to friends, relatives, and eventually, The Milan Historical Society. So itÕs out there now, listed on Lulu.com and anyone that wants to can order a copy. Lordy mercy! Should we have been more careful of what we said? We think itÕs pretty tame, and hopefully we offended no one. We had a lot of fun remembering.
We realized while writing our first book that it would require a sequel, a follow up of our junior high and senior high years. It would not be as easy to write for the ensuing years brought yearnings to be popular and angst when we werenÕt. It brought thoughts of boys, cars and driving, high school sports, Saturday night dances, worries about grades, and college.
