Renewal: The New Art Examiner is a collection of writings from New Art Examiner co-founder Derek Guthrie and art critic Diane Thodos published on Neoteric Art, an online art magazine, from 2011 to 2012. Their criticism focuses the contemporary crisis of art interpretation, cultural institutions and art education and how censorship has excluded engaging meaningful dialogue and debate which the New Art Examiner had once championed. Embedded is the hope of reviving the New Art Examiner for contemporary audiences and returning to a meaningful connection between art, life, and community.
