The Windham Regional Commission (WRC) selected the Village of Jacksonville, to receive technical assistance with village revitalization and economic development as part of an U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) Disaster Recovery grant. This grant was awarded to the Bennington and Windham regions to bring additional professional capacity to Southern Vermont to assist with economic recovery post Tropical Storm Irene. Through this grant, a major focus of the regional commissionsÕ work is village and downtown revitalization. The assistance, provided over the course of several meetings and resulting in this report, helped the village identify short term, midterm and long term projects, outlined initial steps, and provided potential funding sources that would support Jacksonville in building economic resilience.
