Representatives from the Town of Dover met with the Windham Regional Commission (WRC) to discuss opportunities for village revitalization within the Village of West Dover. The Village was eligible for assistance through a U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant through their Disaster Recovery Program as a result of economic damages sustained during Tropical Storm Irene. Awarded to the Bennington and Windham Regional Commissions and the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation, the grant provided resources to bring additional professional capacity to Southern Vermont to assist with economic recovery post Tropical Storm Irene. Through this grant, a major focus of the regional commissionsÕ work is village and downtown revitalization.
