The Windham Regional Commission (WRC) worked with the Town of Wilmington to support economic and community revitalization in WilmingtonÕs downtown center. This work was made possible through a grant received from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA). In December 2012, the EDA Disaster Recovery Grant Program awarded funding to the Windham and Bennington regions to assist communities like Wilmington that sustained economic damages during Tropical Storm Irene. The grant allowed the Bennington and Windham Regional Commissions to bring additional professional capacity to Southern Vermont to assist with economic recovery and village and downtown revitalization.
