The present little work is taken from the Manuel de Liturgie et Ceremonial selon le rit Romain (16th edition).
These were of the opinion that the young Levites preparing for the Priesthood would find it a sure and complete guide for their initiation in the rites of the most august of all sacerdotal functions. Later, as Priests, they would be prompted to consult it anew during monthly and annual Retreats. By this means they would be guarded against almost inevitable forgetfulness and find a remedy for unfortunate habits which even the best are liable to contract and which do injury to the prestige and the majesty of the Sacred Ceremonies.
