A story of events that shaped the life of my brother-in-law Laurence Foster. Larry was named for his uncle who was killed in a bridge collapse in San Jose, California. His family was desperately poor and lived a nomadic life traveling to find work. They often lived in tents, next to creeks or rivers for their water supply. They somehow survived the Great Depression, but then Larry lost his beloved brother at Anzio Beach in World War II. Larry's later marriage, to my sister, was less than a storybook affair. Through it all, he had a successful life and career and will be celebrating his 92nd. birthday on March 29, 2014. May God bless and keep him.
