If you had seen me a few years ago, I would have blended in with everyone else . . . on the outside. I had an active life, a rewarding job, and a loving husband. I thought this was everything I needed and I was content. I believed in God but thought He was high up in the heavens looking down on me. Now, I stick out like a sore thumb on a ventilator. Through my trials, I lost everything I needed that made me content on the outside. I could not face my traumatic past, every day was a struggle, and I did not even want to ponder the future. I knew I would be in a trial for the rest of my life. It would have been easy to spiral downward and give up. However, if you could see through my outside, you would see my heart opened and see that God is there. In the past, I never understood why or how people depended on God. Now I understand. There is no longer much to see on my outside, but there certainly is on my inside. The following story takes you on an extraordinary journey seeing through my outside.
