Permanent Collection Catalog of Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art in Chicago.
The Institute was organized in 1971 to fill a gap in the publicÕs understanding of nationally and internationally recognized Ukrainian artists who were working with contemporary art forms. This was in part, influenced by the emergence of alternative art spaces in Chicago and in many urban centers across the United States in the late 1960s and early 1970s, to provide artists outside the official mainstream venues for the display of their work.
