Seeking redemption after ten years in prison, a young man returns to a small Wisconsin river town but finds his father and the townspeople unforgiving. When the prison cell mate who has followed him to town is found murdered, the young man is the obvious suspect. Chief of Police Will Sumner must ponder questions of guilt and forgiveness while solving the crime.
