This is a book of photos about the Sierra Railroad and its connecting lines around Tuolumne County, California. The Sierra Railroad has been thoroughly documented over the years, but rarely in aerial photographs. The main chapter of this book contains 76 never-before-published color aerial photos taken in 1965, showing locations along the Sierra Railroad, Hetch Hetchy Railroad, and Pickering and West Side Lumber Companies Ñ from Oakdale to Tuolumne and beyond. Closeups show significant features such as the Warnerville water tank which appeared in the movie High Noon. Additional chapters contain photos from the 1970s to the present, including steam, diesel, even modern genset locomotives, and scenes from Railtown 1897 State Historic Park. This 2nd edition contains over 160 photos, and corrects errors from the 1st edition. More photos are planned for inclusion in an eventual 3rd edition., Tuolumne County railroads, Sierra Railroad, Hetch Hetchy Railroad, Pickering Lumber Company, West Side Lumber Company, Peter Cook| | 136PAGES
