Assembled by Wandzia Grycz Rose and Czes_aw Jan Grycz for their children and grandchildren, the 50 recipies, several recollections, explanations of symbols and traditions are a collection from experiences of the manner in which their parents celebrated the main feastdays and holydays of the Church calendar in the home in which they grew up.
After being exiled from their homeland by the vagaries of war and politics, W_adys_awa and Jan M. Grycz adopted the United States as their new home. Yet they conscientiously passed-on these Polish traditions so their children would not only know about, but feel and taste items from their Polish heritage. Happily, they both lived to see the day when Poland regained its freedom after the Solidarity movement. W_adys_awa and Jan lived out the romantic aspirations of the Polish National Anthem:
Jeszcze Polska nie zgin__a, kiedy my _yjemy.
Poland has not yet perished, so long as we still live.
This collection is a celebration of their generous lives.
