In 2008, illustrator Joanna Neborsky went semi-undercover to meetings of New York's Darwinists, hypnotists, toy collectors, and Trekkies who had connected on the popular social networking site Meetup.com. Some Assembly Required is her drawn-from-life account of the cityÕs hobbyist fringe thatÕs meeting in diners, rehearsal studios and in one case an elevator lobby outside midtownÕs Source of Life Center. Neborsky is a 2009 graduate of the MFA Illustration as Visual Essay Department at the School of Visual Arts in New York.
