325 golf clubs around the world are identified as having been nursed through their early years by 163 golfers from Carnoustie, Scotland. These are the "Sons of Carnoustie". Their lives and experiences provide a picture of adventure recklessness, professionalism , multiple skills in teaching of golf, green keeping and design and building of golf courses. Many of today's golf practices,on and off the golf course, stem from their innovations. Some became rich, mixing with star celebrities of the day, others toiled on humble municipal golf courses, but all were united in their aspirations to spread the best practices and attitudes of golf.
