As a semi-professional violist (i.e., not my full-time profession), I play in a number of musical settingsÑmostly religious at this point in my life. A favorite setting is the string quartet, and I've played my share of mediocre arrangements of everything from well-known classical literature to hymns and songs. The following is a collection of hymn and song arrangements I've created over the past 40-plus years. They are purposefully written to provide a level of interest and difficulty befitting more accomplished musicians (especially non-first violins) as well as providing a novel sound to familiar hymns and songs.
