Sparkling Stars is a great example of an anthology series that had something for
everyone. There were plenty of sports stories with Boxie Weaver handling boxing and
Speed Spaulding playing everything from football to crew. There is military humor
with Private Plopp and thrilling World War Two tales with the HellÕs Angels, art by a
young Carmine Infantino. There are funny animal stories and humor fantasy stories
with Ali Baba. Add various exploits of private detective and the F.B.I. Plus science
fiction action with Stormy Daye and Sparkling Stars provides a potpourri of
entertainment.
