Values are essentially motivations: sets of beliefs and principles that guide how we live our lives. They are complex and multi-dimensional. They can be personal, familial, communal, social, cultural, political, organisational, local, global, moral, spiritual and material. Some values are ÔownedÕ by us (e.g. our personal values), and some are ÔgivenÕ to us (e.g. organisational values). As explorers it is all too easy to think of values simply as a compass, helping us to navigate our way through life. But this only tells part of the story. This publications explores values and our journey with values through sixteen different life stories. Each story contains very different backgrounds and values journeys that help collectively to reflect on modern society. Profits from this book will go to charities chosen by the case study contributors.
