On her last to-do list before a fatal stroke, my
mother had included a bucket list item: write a book.
With no more direction than that, I pored through
her computer files, notebooks, and e-mail messages
to family and friends and compiled this collection of
writings. Her writings range from nostalgic poems
about life in the 1950s to hilarious accounts of
"senior" life. She spoke her mind and found humor
even in the struggles of single parenthood, minor
disasters, and failing health.
Her words live on, and it is an honor to share her
stories with the world.
