STRONG AND STEADFAST: THE STORY OF CHARLES ROSWELL AND SARAH SHORE DANA recounts the history of the Dana and Shore families from the early 1800Õs through the end of Charles DanaÕs life in 1976. The book recounts stories about four generations of the Dana and Shore families, including the Culleys, Clarks, Barbers, Rowlands, Coys, and Potts, as well as the children of Charles and Sarah Ð Ray, Chester, Bernice, Glen, Arlean, Darrell and Audrey.
Charles and Sarah were born in Ogden and Hooper, Utah, respectively, in 1887. They moved to Stockton, California in 1926, then settled in Tracy, California where they lived until the end of their lives. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they held many church positions in Utah and California. They also served a five year Church mission to the islands of New Zealand, Samoa, Fiji, and Raratonga between the years of 1953-1958. In 1965, Charles was married to Cleyone Marshall Dana until his death eleven years later.
