A builder is stuck preparing his worksite for the day; a girl waiting to be rescued during a flood watches a helicopter approach but never arrive; a narrator is stuck shooting clay pigeons as distance and direction have collapsed. Summa Thingologica is about our systems of measurement, our relationship with materiality, memory and time. It is about memory as a refuge in intense isolation. Matter and light themselves are transformed into characters tortured and stretched beyond their limits; and the people in the story struggle to comprehend an event beyond comprehension.
