Some western stars are actors who play the cowboy role; others, like SUNSET CARSON, were cowboys and western starts who became actors. Long before he was discovered for the movies, SUNSET (Born Winifred Maurice Harrison, 1920-1990) was already accomplished as a rodeo rider and western show feature, including time working in the Tom Mix Western Show. Although he never enjoyed the longevity and staying power of some other cowboy stars, during the 1940s SUNSET CARSON was a Top-10 money-maker among western stars. His comic life was modest, including appearances in Cowboy Western Comics #27-30, 35-37 (1948-1952) and his own title SUNSET CARSON (1951). These are his complete stories!
